CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

Position Summary

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the preparation and review of engineering plans and specifications, cost estimates, and schedules during the design and construction of ALCOSAN facilities capital improvements. 

Job Duties

  • Performs review of construction contract drawings, schedules, specifications and cost estimates. 
  • Visits construction sites and attend progress meetings.
  • Reviews payment applications and change orders for construction cost control.
  • Prepares cost estimates and construction schedules of ALCOSAN in-house engineering projects.
  • Advises ALCOSAN Project Engineers and ALCOSAN management regarding construction projects.
  • Prepares templates and standard forms in electronic format for use in the construction phase of a capital project.  These include cost estimates, payment applications, resident inspection logs and daily reports, change orders, request of information (RFI), and construction schedules.
  • Researches and recommends desktop and remote computer hardware and software tools for efficient document control of construction projects.
  • Partners with CADD Supervisor, designer(s), and clerical personnel in the management of construction contract records.
  • Prepares construction projects status reports and cash flow reports for the ALCOSAN Facilities Capital Improvements Program. 
  • Assists in preparing budgets for engineering projects.
  • Assists ALCOSAN Division of Operations and Maintenance in planning repair, renovations, or replacement of treatment plant facilities, structures, and equipment.

  • Interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.

Minimum Education Level Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.

Minimum Experience Required

Ten (10) years’ experience in the design and construction of multi-disciplined engineering projects including One (1) year in the design and construction of wastewater treatment facilities or a related industry.
