MANAGER OF SCHOLASTIC OUTREACH AND EDUCATION

Position Summary

The Manager of Scholastic Outreach and Education is responsible for daily oversight Scholastic Outreach and Community Education programs within the Department.


 

Job Duties

  • Serves as the main point of contact between educators / students and ALCOSAN utilizing various methods of communication.  Responsible for fulfilling requests.
  • Oversees all corresponding educational materials to schools, home-based schools, and educational organizations and associations.
  • Develops and updates educational materials based on educators’ needs, changes at ALCOSAN, and to meet State Educational Requirements.
  • Develops new, innovative, and fresh approaches to deliver organizational messages to target audiences.
  • Builds collaborations with educational organizations and non-profit groups to maximize credibility and resources.
  • Selects, trains, supervises, and provides leadership to departmental employees.
  • Develops age and grade appropriate scholastic programs to support the Authority’s communication objectives.
  • Oversees the Summer Educational Program for the Authority.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the Manager of Communications to ensure a uniform organizational message.
  • Maintains compliance with the Authority’s rules, policies and procedures.
  • Develops plans, annual objectives, and budget requests for the department.
  • Counsels management with regards to community outreach activities with an educational focus to foster positive community relations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as needed.

Minimum Education Level Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a closely related field of study.

Minimum Experience Required

Seven (7) years of professional experience in Education or a closely related field of work. In addition, a minimum of Three (3) years’ supervisory experience. 

Required Certifications / Licenses

Valid Act 34 Criminal Record, Act 114 FBI, and 151 Child Abuse History clearances are required. Must have a PA Teaching Certification. Principal Certification is preferred.
